Please join us on Saturday, February 14th in support of Blueberry Blueberry, now known as Blue, came from an animal hoarding situation when she had been shot in the face and was living with bullet shrapnel scattered throughout her head, nasal passages, and jaw and heartworm disease. She was in constant discomfort – no one could touch or move her mouth, she couldn’t yawn, she wouldn’t play with toys, and she suffered from significant discharge from her nostrils and eyes. She has had improvement with pain medication but she didn’t deserve to suffer any longer. She was moved into our foster to adopt program in October when she met her fabulous new parents. Warrior Dog has worked with multiple vet partners and Blue’s new parents to determine the safest course of action for all of her medical needs. Blue had a consultation with Animal & Emergency Referral Center (AERC). The plan began with an anesthetized oral exam, dental X-rays, CT scan, and rhinoscopy. It was determined that she had embedded pieces of shrapnel, shattered pieces of bone, and many fractured and worn down teeth.
